Vacancy

As a Supervisor at Arvato, you are responsible for coordinating the logistics process in your department. You do this together with your team, which consists of the Assistant Team Leader, Logistic Administrative Staff and other logistics employees. All departments must meet the predetermined targets and KPIs daily. Therefore, you always consult with all team leaders in the morning, to see if the planning is doable and what is going on in the other departments. You also discuss how the logistics processes went the previous day(s). Based on this, you decide whether the targets and KPIs need to be adjusted and whether additional staff are needed.

The rest of your day as a Supervisor you are engaged in controlling and adjusting the logistics processes in your department. You can be found on the floor coordinating and performing measurements on progress, but you are also often in the office. There you prepare yourself by working on progress reports: logistics changes daily. In addition, a lot of time is spent on staff scheduling; you regularly contact the Workforce department. You not only schedule the staff, but also coach and motivate them. You are the point of contact for questions and problems.

As a supervisor, you plan and oversee everything daily. This way you learn much about improving logistics processes. Based on this, you can prepare reports and present your ideas to the Warehouse Manager for the long term. You will work in day shifts (08:00 AM – 5:00 PM), but it may also occur that work is done in two shifts (06:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – midnight).

You contact the Supervisors of other departments to ask if they might have some backup colleagues. You also consult with the Workforce department: an internal department that has direct contact with employment agencies. You coordinate matters with Workforce more often - for example about planning or if you want to train temporary workers for a certain qualification. Unfortunately, it turns out that it is not possible to get extra staff in your department; it is busy everywhere. In this case, you think about what has the highest priority. You do this in consultation with the other Supervisors; together you ensure that the most important goals of the departments are achieved at the end of the day and for the coming period.
